I'm really curious what he'd have said about the Battaglin, which is probably at least 30 years old.

One of my favorite rollers tricks video. Old enough now to be “classic.”

Some of this stuff is inexplicable, no matter how hard you try to understand.

That doesn't mean it's not still a deathtrap though
My SLT is one year younger - I do wonder about it when I'm riding it hard. I figure it's probably fine since it's lasted this long.

I wonder if the same thought process goes into old airplanes. “well it survived pearl harbor, must still be good.”.

Good ride. There were some sections of trail with big rocks and roots and ruts that would prolly be fine on a MTB and/or fine on a gravel/CX bike with skilled rider, but my off road skills/comfort level is weak so I got ascared a few times and had to dismount. I expect with time and practice I can get better, but compared to my 3 riding partners I am a total newbie. Of course I put the hurt on them on the paved climbing section as payback.

I find myself in a training/riding quandary.
I want to ride farther and faster, but I've no interest in racing, or even group riding (burned out on that 20 years ago). I don't know if I want to do more structured training to reach my goals, since my goals are so nebulous. OTOH, when I get on Zwift, like last night, determined that I'm going to spend the whole time on Z1/Z2, because I was thoroughly cooked after Wednesday's TdZ ride, I end up riding tempo at least 1/3 of the time, opting for climbs instead of flats, etc. IRL, it's easier - on weeknight rides, I try to 'leave it all on the road', which I can do because I know the hills to charge up and how hard I can push and JUST be running out of gas at the top, or how hard to push on that flat section, and where I can rest up a bit for the next effort. Zwift, I'm largely responding to the resistance I'm feeling through the pedals.
So, I don't know whether I want to leap into the world of structured training, partly because it seems structured around getting fit for a particular event, versus merely being more fit.

After my thoroughly positive experience with Green Spot, I decided to try another single pot still Irish Whisky -
Like Green Spot, this seems to be very well loved. I hear that it's a little more complex and has a little more bite than Green Spot, though; probably not a bad thing since the GS went down way too easily and was gone pretty quickly.
