Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In some cases, depending on what's causing it. A friend had it due to extra impulses to the heart from secondary nerves. It was treated with drugs until they became less effective and they did an ablation, running a wire up through the groin to blast the part of the heart where the extra beats were getting their signal. In his case it worked out perfectly and we were mountain biking steep climbs at 9000 feet a few weeks later.

When I was hospitalized for a cardioversion to address atrial flutter my roommate the first day had just had an ablation. Old guy who had been suffering for years. Before he was discharged a doctor told him that she could not believe no one had recommended the procedure earlier. Instead, they told him it was caused by anxiety and had him see a shrink. I felt both happy and sad for him.

while we’re on the subject, do you have any idea on how to teach a almost three year old how to use this thing? I made a little progress last night but she doesnt seem to get it.

Woke up at 430 am this morning. Plan was to do 50 miles but then I saw the temperature. 24 degrees, it’s now 630 and still 24 degrees. Times like this I wish I was able to ride during the day, it’s suppose to reach 50 by 1 pm. Guess i’ll do 25 this morning and try and do another 25 tonight.

Make sure that she can get her feet flat on the ground when she's on the saddle and then give her time.

She might awkwardly walk around while straddling it for a bit, then she'll sit down and walk it, one foot always on the ground at any time. Eventually, though, she'll lift both feet and start to glide. If you want to demonstrate for her, you could use your wife's bike, rather than lower the saddle on yours. Don't get impatient, though, and I wouldn't instruct her, per se - she can watch you a little bit and then figure it out on her own. Take little family walks around the block and have her bring the bike. It might take a while, but when it finally clicks, she'll take off.
