Claris Shifter Compatibility

Hi All,

I've been looking at buying a pair of used Claris R2000 2x8 spd shifters to replace the old Sora ST 3304s that I currently have on my bike. I'm hoping that as they are both Shimano 8 speed that they will be compatible but I've been unable to find any information about the cable pull ratios to check. I'm hoping someone has either had experience trying this or knows of a compatibility table that would be helpful.

Yes, Claris will work with Sora 8-speed. 8-speed pull rates have not changed.

As a side note, your Claris rear shifter will work with a mountain RD up to 9 speed. If you ever want to go to a larger max rear cog/capacity, it would not be an issue. My wife is running it with 12-34 8 speed cassette and a 9 speed XT rear derailleur.
