Nth Annual autumn CCRT ride!
Columbus Day weekend. Dennis to Wellfleet/Atlantic Ocean and back. IIRC we've typically held this on Saturday. Some of you have mentioned going to a thingy in Connecticut Saturday Oct 7 so we can do the CCRT on Sunday if that works better.
Any preferences? Vote early, vote often!
I can't remember if this will be the Nth or the N+1th.
Some previous rides.

Bump!
So everybody has plans to be elsewhere over Columbus Day weekend? C'mon, just 'cuz it can be 45 degrees and windy on the Cape is no reason to put the bike away! It's only a bit under 50 miles round trip!

Dang, I still need to make it to one of these. I've been planning on going to that thingy on the 7th for a while, so not sure about this one yet. Maybe some of us can combine the two...?

Death fork? Naaaah!!
It is traditional to ride on Columbus Day weekend, but was never chiseled in stone. Earlier/later would mean you wouldn't have to tide 'Top-less', so to speak. Columbus day is quite early this year, just sayin'.

Ah! Topless may be good for some, Top-less less good. So what say we make it Saturday September 14? It works for me.

I think you mean Saturday, 16 Sept.
Doesn't work for me, but I could make the following week happen (23 Sept).
For the record, the first fall ride was 2010, so this would be #7.

My butt hurts thinking of all those Brooks, to each his own rear
I spy me some Panaracer tires...always had terrible like with the sidewalls getting cut up...
I dig the Brooks pro with copper...I wish they would re-issue that model, it was the best design and most comfy ever.

I'm off to my step-daughter's twins first birthday Columbus Day weekend so figuring I'd be missing this year's ride & having yesterday off I rode the new & improved CCRT solo. Pick any other weekend & I'm there.
Some additional info on the construction: The parking lot on RT. 134 has half as many parking spots as before, the new Dennis trail head is just the other side of the overpass (Main St) & has plenty of spaces, with luck next year's spring ride could start in Yarmouth. There's maybe a mile tacked on that's rideable deadending shy of the river.
Keep an to your right as you approach exit 9 & you can where they're widening the Bass River channel

This is giving me a haddock. I have to see a sturgeon.
So do we have any consensus yet? @spiker, you can most any day except Columbus Day weekend. @rumrunn6, 9/9 is this coming weekend. Is that your only opportunity? @top506, can you do 9/9 or would you prefer later? @ScottRyder, good to hear from you, and do you have a preference?
I can make most weekends up through Oct 15, and then my time disappears.

I'm out this fall, that's the same weekend as the Gloucester Gran Prix, the big two day cyclocross event. I'm shooting, not competing. Bummer.

the only construction that would have any impact is the parking lot having half its spaces gone & on a non holiday w/e it shouldn't be an issue

Generally clocks in at just under 50 miles, quite flat.

Carol and I are interested! And we might even bring our tandem. Please put me on the list if there is one.
