We don't have to see you naked, do we? If so, I'll have to re-think this whole thing.

I'm hearing the delays getting on and off Cape are horrendous. Plan accordingly.

1 mile in ea direction is not bad compared to summer backups, or when we were evacuated for Hurricane Bob in 1990?
anyway, that info was for a weekday so a weekend morning might be a little longer. best plan would be to stay over somewhere Friday night before an all day ride Saturday making your arrival in S. Dennis more predictable. lots of cheap motels all over the cape this time of year

Heck. I can't make it this year after all. Have a great ride, everybody--really sorry to miss it yet again.

As much as I enjoy being away in sunny and warm Florida during the end of April--- I do miss riding with all of you! The banter back and forth is first class! Take care and enjoy the ride. Here's hoping sunshine is abundant the breezes are always in your favor!

Well, you will be missed. On the other hand, without a pastor in the group we won't have to limit our language to jonwvara's heck. Although Jon is such a gentleman he would have stopped there anyway.

Without a Pastor in the group we were free to tell all the banjo player and engineer jokes we wanted to. A great day. I headed to the Cape on Thursday, stopping to explore the Washington Secondary trail out of Cranston, RI. Pretty forgetable trail as it sorely lacks maintenance and seems to have no value to the communities it passes through. Sad.
Friday was another nice day wandering around on Martha's Vineyard. Cool, overcast and drizzle but a great way to waste time and money - especially at the Scottish Bakehouse in West Tisbury. Aaaaaah!
Yesterday turned out much nicer than expected as the socked in clouds pushed off and the sun came out just as I arrived at the trail head. As Jim's photos show, 11 of us old (and younger) farts gathered for 'the tour'. Excellent company, nice bikes and good weather, as long you kept riding to stay warm. Lovely sunny spot for lunch.
Somewhere on the return trip my Voyageur "smelled the barn" and bolted for the end. I kept thinking of the possible traffic at the Sagamore bridge so I was OK with the bolt. Escaping the Cape was easier than planned, as I know the back roads, then it was clean air the rest of the way. CT was a quick 111 mile transit as those blue plates seem "untroubled by the process of the law". 70+mph all the way, no speed limit signs required. Parked in my driveway by 10:30p. Great weekend. Thanks and safe travels @jimmuller.

Thanks, @Prowler. We should thank @top506 for being the prime mover for this ride.
Here is what I posted in the "Where'd You Ride Today?" thread:
Tour de Cape Cod (TdCC, spring version)
Start
Lunch
More pics:
Top's bike with two names
Top was had a bit of sew-up trouble so we all offered advice
Prowler's Voyager
Telling tall tales during a rest on the the return, otg, me, Top506
Prowler and spiker waiting for us
otg's beautiful Trek
Finish. Prowler has already left because he had a long drive home
L to R:
me, spiker, sherbornpeddler, sbp's wife Susan, my sweetie Sharon, otg, Top's daughter (and if I try to spell her name I will most certainly get it wrong so I will apologize now and quit while only slightly behind), her friend/SO Gani, Top506.
And a great time was had by all.

Nice pictures Jim, and like to repeat Prowler, safe travels. I made my way to Hyannis after the ride to check out a used record store, then made my way home. the Sagamore was backed up a bit, but the Bourne was smooth sailing. Thanks all for a great day.

A proud looking bunch if I ever saw one! The weather god smiled shinny and bright on all of you!
I take it the Cape Cod Constable Force was out and this is why @ScottRyder was a no show, keeping his head low and out of sight!?!

Just back from a very pleasant get-away-from-mud-season van camping trip that went as far south as Norfolk, Virginia, and featured a modest amount of bike rides. The C&O Canal/ Great Allegheny Passage route looks like a great end-to-end ride, and at 300 and something miles, not unreasonably demanding of time. We only rode a dozen miles of it from Harper's Ferry, but it seemed great.
Got back here last night to find the snow mostly gone, apart from roadside banks and plow piles. Still some mud, but roads drying up.Given that I had such a good time, it would be unseemly to complain about missing the CCRT ride. But I really wish I could have done both. Thanks for the pics.
Edit: I spoke too soon. Got up this morning to 6" of new snow (as actually measured on the picnic table). But it probably won't last long. It's May tomorrow, right? Even up here, May isn't a big snow month.
