[Brompton] Adding disk-compatible hub?

Hello,

Unless I'm mistaken, this disk-compatible hub could fit on a Brompton and its rare 74mm width:

In this case, why doesn't Brompton simply offer a fork with a disk brake mount tab, with the tab on the right side to keep the bike as compact as it is now?

In the meantime, could an adapter do the job safely?

Thank you.
