It's in my book too. I'm already looking at rides to do on the way east (East Bay trail outta Providence, hop over to MV on Friday and visit Mytoi, maybe Blackstone on the way home) so I'm getting ready. I'm planning to camp in Shawme Crowell forest again. Worked great for me in the spring.
Thanks for the kick off Top. Soon.

I'm going to do a drive by at the Dennis end today on my way down to see what improvements they've done. I'll post some pics maybe.

RB, any chance you can join us even if for a bit? That would be a real treat.

Unfortunately something reasonably drastic has happened, actually two things but one is more shall we say drastic than the other. By twin brother is coming through town that day and will likely be staying with us. Seein' as how we don't see him very often we are likely to be staying home all day. Don't know his travel schedule yet but it looks pretty certain we will not be able to make it. Bummer.
However we have some pretty good ideas about a ride for Sunday closer to Boston. Some time or other I want to take some folks on the road that time forgot. And a few other really nifty roads around here. PM me if anyone is interested. Don't want to generate a competing ride however.

Already asked him. He wasn't interested. Of course I can set him up with a bike too. But noop, it doesn't work. Bummer.

Guys and Gals, I wish I could join you. Logistically it just can't work for me from this distance and church responsibilities. I am hoping to ride the full 60 mile length of our local rail trail with BluesDaddy and another buddy that day. It will be a gravel grinding experience that I'll try to take a few pics and post. Maybe we can call it the NRT C&V ride! I'm guessing we will all be riding mid '80s MTBS.

Still learning
Better than 50-50 I can make the 8th.
How slow can I ride? I always seem to average 12-13 mph, no matter the traffic or wind direction.

OJ2, Top is the Top, but the 3 CCRTs I've been on have been 'no drop' rides. Plenty of nice rest stops. I think you'll be fine. I'll likely be on my third 30 to 40 mile day in a row. Likely wobbly legs for CCRT so I'll hang with you. No worries. Hope you can make it.

Just adding I'll be there
Took some pix of the construction a while back but couldn't get them to load.
About 2/3rd's of the trail has been paved, rt 134 to Bass River & Station Ave to East Main in Yarmouth. No work on bridge over Bass River nor have they started ripping out the ties between E.Main & Bass River. Doubt it will be ready by next year's fall ride

As of now, I'll be there with my friend Lauren. I also met two women last weekend who are interested in going, I sent them info on the ride. One of them has a vintage Trek .. My only worry is that they average 20+ mph. Kids these days!!!

Hey Top, for those of us with CRS (can't remember hardly anything no mo) please remind us of the logistics. IOW we gather at _________(Dennis trail head??) at ___________ (8:30a?) and push off heading for Wellfleet at ______ (9:00?). Thanks.
I've told the engineering job "I'm outta here. Nothing is making any progress anyway." I've told the LBS "I'm outta here. Somebody switched off the flow of customers anyway." I'm ready and setting out Thursday before dawn. The weather looks great too.
And, since Sharon is usually the one who brings yummy cookies BUT Sharon is probably staying home with that old man this time, I'm bring the cookies. Southern Cap Cod cookies. Much honored recipe that's been in my family for several weeks now. Nobody's taken ill from them yet. Just baked a new batch. See you all soon.

Dennis trailhead between 0930 and 0945, but we never seem to get going much before 10.
BTW, I saw a copy of the of 'The Collected Poems of Robert Service' in The Yellow Umbrella Bookstore in Chatham three weeks ago.
