IIRC, you rubberband the wallet closed with the ID on the outside and drop it in the mailbox.

I found a wallet once and Googled the address on the DL and it was a drug re-hab place. I called them and they said they can't confirm whether or not the guy was there because HIPPA. I said I appreciate that but I'd like to get this guy's wallet back to him and they said "well IF he's here, we'll tell him to call you." No one ever called, so I gave it to the police. It occurred to me that it may have been stolen and ditched since it didn't have any money in it and I didn't want the guy to think I found it and kept the money.

I am seeing a ton of gloves recently. Haven't picked any up. I guess if you lose one glove no point keeping it.

I saw what I first thought was an 18650 battery, but upon picking it up saw the label, indicating it was the container for a THC vaping cartridge.

Riding home from work one afternoon last summer I saw a lady's wallet on the road. It was right next to the driver's door of a car parallel parked on the road in front of a small hair salon, so I deduced the owner must have dropped it upon exiting the car and was most likely a customer in the salon. I found her driver's license in the wallet, then went into the salon and asked if they had a customer there by her name and showed them the DL. They asked why I wanted to know, and I just said I had her wallet (shrug)… They went into the next room, and a moment later the owner came out, got her wallet back, and gave me a hug (yay!).

I saw one of those once; well, half of it. Couldn't figure it out for days, until I went around the corner instead of down the street, and saw the other half. It was snapped cleanly in the middle.

Found a wallet yesterday. In the bike lane. Only 1 card inside, nothing else. The name looked like a company name. Credit card I think. The next place up the road was a sports bar. Left it there.

This morning I found a needle nose pliers in the road while stopped at a light. It doesn't seem to have been run over too many times and the hinge isn't sloppy. This one's a keeper.

Disappointingly it's only $13.99 new from MAC. https://www.mactools.com/en-us/Plier...-Nose-Pliers-7
Quite possibly the least expensive tool they sell!

Dimes. The other day I kept seeing dimes. On the road, on the sidewalk, on a grocery store checkout counter. Weird.

A sign of the times: 2 respirator face masks.
Several miles apart.

But I didn't see anyone wearing one.

Found a policeman's wallet by the side of the road with the badge still in it. Rode over to the local police station and gave it to them.

This morning I found a grain shovel laying on the MUP. I left it there. I'm assuming it fell of the back of a park department truck.

Last Friday: A very hefty and nicely made set of sheet metal shears.

Monday (yesterday): Two 3/8" drive sockets, one a deep well SnapOn 10mm, and a thin walled 15mm of unknown brand.

Yesterday:
Dead skunk in the middle of the road
Stinkin' to high heaven!

And the dead raccoon which has been lying beside the US36 Bikeway for two months is now getting smelly since it is no longer freezing at night.
