The 'Accidental' Commutist...
I have not been commuting since the office has gone to reduced hours/reduced staff due to Covid-19. I can do a little more than half my work from home, but there is some I must do there. However, due to concerns over break-ins during increasingly desperate times I have been bringing essential equipment home with me, and there is no practical way for me to ferry it back and forth with the bikes (and lack of trailers) I have on hand.
So I've been getting out almost every day for a ride, or at the least a walk.
This morning I was determined to get a ride in before lunch. At 10am I was three minutes and a quarter mile into my ride when a client called with an 'emergency'. I realized I didn't need the equipment for this quick project, but I did need to get to the office, so I blasted off toward work using my shortest, fastest route.
I got there, ( I was alone in the building) did the project then headed home.
Okay, so it wasn't an "accident" like in the post title...but it was a real bike commute, and I don't know when that will happen again in the near future.

Very good. I was concerned when I read the title as "accidental communist", and prefer the ending to the story where you commute instead of becoming a commie.

RoadKill I am a Marxist...a Groucho Marxist, that is.

And of course:

Here in the People’s Republic of Boston, the Rulinig Party is Marxist-Lennonist with this dialectical slogan:
...Okay, so it wasn't an "accident" like in the post title...but it was a real bike commute, and I don't know when that will happen again in the near future.
