It's dope. That is all.

But in all seriousness the shifting is silent and under load it works exactly the same. I have been on SRAM road so many years that I forgot how good Shimano was. Now that Shimano has comfy hoods makes SRAM less relevant. Although I will say the comfiest hoods ever made to me are still SRAM Red 10sp. Don't know what they changed with 11sp that made them not as good.

Agreed. 10s Sram was the best shifter ergonomics EVAR

Yeah and it doesn't seem like it's a hydro thing because the red 10sp shifters for the hydro rim calipers was exactly the same. Also, I once emailed SRAM about it and they said that the master cylinder for the rim and disc caliper was the exact same.

I've got Sram Red 10 spd on my Boone and 810 GRX on my Search XR. The Red is pretty wonderful stuff but doesn't compare to the 800 series GRX. GRX Flicking gear changes- under load or not- is effortless and silent. Amazing drivetrain. I'm not sure I like the shape of the hoods better, they are a little fatter in your palms. I do agree that the Red 10's fit in your hands and you forget they are there, but the GRX are a close second for shape. Did I mention how awesome the shifting is?

Love the GRX on my Niner, but shape of the hoods would be better if the edges were a little rounder - it's a bit boxy - I like the width though.

Norco Search XR carbon. Bought a new 2019 frame last winter and built it with GRX800 stuff. I was on a Boone with 40c Ramblers for gravel, the Search is a much more stable and capable bike on the dirt... running 45c Ramblers.

Put some Conti 5000tl 32s and a 52t chainring on my Boone and have been riding it on the road and as a commuter. Those tires are the best thing to ever happen to road bikes (for me anyway).
