I bought my bike in Early October and haven't experienced this hopefully amazing transformation. I mean going out for a ride and thinking the weather is going to keep getting better must be a blast.

You bet it's a blast! (Until you start thinking about how hot summer will be.)

My favorite is early spring, when the trees are just starting to leaf out. The leaves are the color of my hi-vis jersey, so I have to save it for fall and wear the blaze orange in spring.

It's one of the great, if simple, joys in life. It's especially gratifying if you've been riding indoors during the winter - that first time out in motion is an amazing feeling, and having nice weather makes it that much more enjoyable.

In the SW, this is really our spring and its perfect. Daily highs @70, lows @40, light breezes. I'm rehabbing an injury and can't get on the bike for another 6-7 weeks. I tell myself its just like being snowed in, waiting for my break in the weather. Spring is what bikes are made for.

Today was the warmest day we've had in a while, (it's 64 right now) I planned all week on getting the bike out today and hitting the trails. My son got sick late last night and I had to keep him home from school. = no riding for me

Good news is, tomorrow is supposed to be almost as nice as today so I'm going to try it again.

What is this "spring" thing you speak of?

Seriously though, living in southern California for 3 years now, I've almost forgotten what seasons are like. Well, almost, I really miss fall. I was always a much bigger fan of fall than of spring, personally, but I've had neither now for 3 years. It's going to suck when I finish school and end up moving back to a place that actually has real seasons again, but at least I'll have my favorite season back.

Down here in the Tropics we have two seasons Perfect and Hot as He**. Jan will be over 400 miles for me but I know what's coming round the corner. Last August we had a run of over 110 degree heat indexes.

Oh, it is. Getting those few glorious days where the temperature is perfect for a ride. Not too hot and not too cold. Seeing the changes in the countryside, the explosion of wild crocus. I even like dandilions. I know they're a weed, but when they carpet a field in vibrant yellow, it's still beautiful. The return of the meadowlarks. I miss their song when they leave for the winter. *wistful sigh*

Watching the drab winter shades of grey burst into shades of bright green on your bike is gorgeous. I love watching the bare trees suddenly fill with leaves and blossoms. I can do without the mold allergies but seeing the songbirds again make up for the constant sneezing. And shorts! I can wear shorts without people asking me if I'm freezing - the irony is always lost on the skirt wearers. And of course, spring also means summer is around the corner! I love summer best of all of the seasons.

We've had glimpses of it the past few days. It has been in the 50's and 60's in the Denver metro this week. I commuted to work on Thursday and Friday, and we have group rides planned for Saturday and Sunday. It does feel good riding with just the single layer and the warmth of the sun. Next week, back to frigid temperatures, but it's hard to complain about our January weather thus far. I'll have about 90 outdoor miles for January.

Living in the same lovely state as you, I can confirm this and add: It's 110 humid degree heat indexes.

It seems there are typically about four weeks or so in the spring and then again in the fall when our weather can compare to what's often found in the western-ish U.S. Winters aren't generally cold by most standards (although we had teens now and then last year), but they're often wet. Summers just slap you in the face when you step outside. It's like hitting a wall: hot, humid, stagnant air.

Spring is about as good as it gets here in Louisiana.

Maybe one of these days I'll be able to move somewhere west of San Antonio...

It's supposed to be a whopping 50 for the next two days and I've already got rides planned, so to say I'm looking forward to spring is an understatement.

Spring cycling is heaven
the warmth of the air, light green leafs on the trees, the birds are singing and the sun will warm your body.
It makes me want to ride for hours and hours.
Spring here are temperatures between 50-65 Fahrenheit, While winter are 10-40 Fahrenheit, grey and very dull.
