Before I start, this probably concerns people going to MurryBridge in september.
Heres my latest ride....or more to say, Team BYR's latest ride. Its the BY-06....Prototype . We strapped our new canopy shape to BY-03 just to test the canopy. Its the fastest BYR ever, even in this spec! BY-06 is going to b faster again by a fair margin if all goes to plan

Anyway, if anyone wants any other info on our 2006 campaign, there is alot of BYR info in the link in my sig. Check it out

Sun EZ-3 Pack Horse

My recumbent trike. I can carry an insulated cooler in the cargo area.

looks good and I like the sound of a cooler on the bike...It looks like your bags are dragging though?

Not dragging, just a loose strap on a 15-year old underseat pannier that's only partially filled.

I recently swapped out the 20" rear wheels with 24" wheels; so now the derailleur has 6" inches ground clearance (instead of the default 2").

Actually not. I did notice a slight (1-2 mph) speed increase, and easier riding on the rough country roads.

I plan to swap out the front fork and replace the 16" wheel with a 20" electric hub.

Joel, is that a TC idler you've got on the Widow? I reaaaaalllllllly want to try an AB trike, but there is only one store in Eugene with a trike and it's a Wizwheelz, don't get me wrong, but I just don't feel like I fit in it, I'm a 6'5 rugby player. It feels too narrow, like my shoulders are going to get swiped by traffic. the AB's also look a bit higher up too. How much was it to get the script on the back?

Yes that is a TerraCycle idler, it is a dual with one power side and one return side. The name on the Trike cost $10.00 installed. The AB tadpole is only 8" from the floor to bottom of seat, I am not sure what size rider the AB will take. But you would be better off looking for a trike with a longer boom option. I think GreenSpeed offers one. The price for the AB is a fantastic bargain. I have all great equipment on it. Dura Ace bar end shifters and 105 & XT shifting. Alex wheels with Comet Kevlar tires. I just switched them out for Scorchers TR. here is a picture with my regular seat cushion.

The WizWheels have different frame sizes depending on x-seams. I am not nearly as impressed with the WizWheels as I am with A.B. Specifically, I am very concerned with the lightweight bushing'd steering knuckles. A.B., like several other, use a normal bicycle sterring head on both front wheels and is proving to be a very well balanced design for a nice straight ride.

I am 6'4" and 240#. The A.B. has plenty of boom available and just enough width so that my legs do not hit anything while peddling. The weight limit on the A.B. Trike is 265lbs. It's a little higher on the Apoyo also offered by A.B. Here is a link of me riding the A.B. trike: Google Vids

As Joel said, this is one heck of a deal from A.B. if your not attached to a name. I will say this, you probably need the foam pad shown on Joel's second image. The stock molded pad is slippery and pushes in all the wrong places for a tall person. The 2" open cell foam holds you in the seat and is just enough to keep from feeling the hardshell seat.

The first picture shows the TW-Bents fenders and Air Mesh seat cushion. Both should be available in the USA in the next few months. I just finished testing the fenders and I like them a lot.

It took me about a year to save up for my Jetstream II, recumbents aren't really priced towards college students I don't think. Maybe when I start seeing more used AB tadpoles I''ll begin to look. Right now, I'm getting ready to buy my new camera(other especially expensive habit of mine).

I truly understand how you feel, my other hobby is photography. I bought a Pentax DSLR and I spend a huge amount of time riding and taking photos. Nice way to combine hobbies. I even set up a web page for my photos and for my trike.

Enclosed pic of my new Rans Force5 XL High Racer. Have only 300 miles on it so far, but love the riding position, the ease of shifting and the awesome stopping power of the disk brakes.

Here is a picture of my first foray into the world of recumbents. It is an Australian built and designed bike called a Flying Furniture PBP Special. I have only had it about a week and am still learning how to ride a recumbent, but already am having a lot of fun on it.

That's one of the shortest wheelbases I've ever seen. How's the ride? Is it touchy to steer?

It seemed really touchy when I first got it(my first recumbent) but after I got used to the bike, it doesn't seem to bad. It is absolutely great for commuting in, due to the twitchiness I think. If a car pulls in front of me, I can just lean over and scoot around them. Riding one handed is do-able but it took me a while to get the hold of it. No Hands isn't possible(thats the story for most SWBs from the story i've heard). It has a 41" wheel base maybe 42". It's great, save for the handlebars it fits on the bus bike racks. Sometimes I have to maneuver it a bit, because of the h-bars, but it always works. I am also a giant, so maybe my girth makes the bike look a bit smaller.
I really like your "name". After thinking about it, I am oil free as well now. My city's Utility Board just started a wind power program. It is only 2 cents more per/kWh. They were going to raise everyone's rates 4 cents, then decided they could make due with 2 cents raise. Why not just switch everyone over to their wind and solar power and just tack on the extra 2 cents?
