Any actual benefits from having a Chub hub rear aside from aestetics?
Been seeing quite a few chub rear hubs rather lately on the street; is there actually any benefits for having one aside from the aesthetics of having a oversized rear hub?

I kinda doubt it. I guess they theoretically make a stronger wheel. Not sure how that theory translates into reality.

Yup, theoretically, the high hub flange will shorten the distance between the rim and the hub. Shorter spokes are needed to lace the rim and it should make the wheel stronger.

I cant imagine the difference in durability would be much compared to a normal high flange track hub. Its going to require roughly an inch or two shorter of spokes? Its going to take more research to persuade me than just some hipster says its stronger/makes a difference.
