Yeah, I won't even be close this month. I had several medical things that I was able to get scheduled this month that I didn't think would happen until November. And then we got a cold snap and my interest in riding cold dwindled.

The rest of the year will be much the same, I'm afraid. This year has been my lowest mileage full year since I started riding in 2018. I hope to get to 6,000 miles this year, but we'll see. Hopefully next year will be back to normal.

October Goal 100 miles
Last third of the month log
10-19 4.0
10-20 5.0
10-21 5.5
10-22 6.0
10-23 5.0
10-24 6.0
10-25 5.6
10-26 3.4
10-28 8.0
10-29 6.0
10-30 9.0

MTD 126.6 miles
YTD 344.3 miles

Got to ride the local MUP in the city next to us with my 75 yo cycling friend .

It was 8.6 miles around the loop , but I always circle the parking lot for a cool down and to make it an even nine miles .
We had one rest about halfway and I walked one short but steep hill riding my Schwinn Crosscut single speed conversion.
I think I hit my gearing perfect , most of the rolling hills weren’t an issue .
A quick picture at one of the numerous ponds we past on the ride .
A great day to ride , sunny high sixties to start , finished in the low seventies.

When I was younger and did a lot of skiing I liked it but I no longer ski and could do without it. I do however enjoy snow shoeing but given the choice would rather ride or hike.

My goal at the beginning of the month was just to get back to riding on a consistent basis .
Once I managed to do fifty miles I set a goal at 100 miles for the month .
Today I rode a short cool ride around the neighborhood (3.5m) to complete October with a total of 130.1 miles .
My best month in a year .
And now the cold weather is setting in . Freezing temps tonight.
I can’t do the mileage some of you guys do , but you help inspire me to keep going and setting goals and trying to meet them .
I only missed four days riding this month. I’m afraid I’ll be missing more in the next few months.
But on warm days , I hope to be out there giving it my best .

I had a couple 100 milers and a couple 60 milers but not going to lie, even tho I don't really set goals in the back of my mind I wanted to do a 120+ mile ride so kind of disappointed that did not happen.
