Using a metal box to enclose your LifeP04 battery

Hi, very excited since i purchased a LifeP04 48v 20 a.h. battery. I have a entry level Ampedbike kit. The battery has the bms mounted on top of the battery. I found a metal tool box just about the size of the battery. Does the battery and bms need ventilation? Any input on how to care for this expensive battery appreciated.

Depending on how fast you charge, you may need to take the battery out of the box to charge. But when you are riding, the metal box should be fine. There is not much heat produced if you are riding on moderate hills or flat ground. And if your metal box is not padded/ insulated in any way then it will conduct heat away from the battery very well.
