Never been comfortable in the drops. I think a lot of it is the width issue.

How wide are they? Probably 42's(??) but if they are less i've got a spair set(are they sets? hmm) somewhere around here that you could play with.

Do you want to be comfortable or win bike races?

It's a racing bicycle, not a sofa.

/Sarcasm.

I spent most of my 20 min race in the drops Saturday. I didn't win, but i was comfortable. I think i should drop the bars...then maybe i'll be uncomfortable and i'll win.

Hmmm...

I'm comfortable, but I started to realize that I think I can breath better if they were wider. Like a lot better. I have never tried it so I don't really know. Just starting to feel cramped in the chest.

Tour of Hermann, Cat 4/5, I'm in red, finishing 3rd overall. Two guys in my field had already finished 2 minutes ahead.

Definitely suffering... 55 degrees and raining. Lot's of climbing throughout the course. A crash on the final turn broke the chase group apart.

Credit / Thanks to Jeff Yielding of DogFish Racing for the photos.

I just switched from wide conventional drop bars to shallow drops in a size smaller. I must say, the drops are now every bit as comfy as the hoods. At some point I just needed to embrace the reality of my build and how it affects my positioning.
