Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A very angery man

Well I have not sat on a bike in a week. I have lost wieght is the only good thing. I can not ride a bike because I'm injured from doing something unloading hay. I hurt my ribs chest area. I can't breath good. I can only fill my lungs a little bit. It not only hurts but its impossible to open my lungs. Even if I have to cough or yawn or something I can't spell. I did not sleep much for 2 nights only a hour of sleep. I'm getting better but can't ride yet or breath fully. I got a few hours of sleep last night. The pain may make me a better cyclist If I don't have scar tissue. I'm a very angery man but always nice.

**edit** Sorry I spelled angry wrong.

Or type, post threads, reply to threads, or even think about posting in bike forums. That would be a good start towards healing.

One night in New Jersey, while playing a soccer game, I got a cheap shot in the chest from the opposing teams right midfielder...i could barely breath, and I thought I cracked my sternum... however, my very knowledgable, old science teacher had said that it was most likely that all the tiny muscles in my chest were strained and it would go away in a week or so... so have hope, shouldnt be too long...however the pain was pretty unbareable, i could barely move...but by the end of the game the kid got a broken nose, and it wasnt from me...my teammates are super cool

I’m sorry to hear you are hurt, at your age it should come back faster than at DrPete’s and mine. I have pulled a muscle in the groin bucking hay it aint nice. You probably know it was from trying to muscle it up already, instead of using your weight, and the weight of the hay.

I hope you are better soon. Look at the bright side; you get to watch the TDF instead. (Sorry no JU this time around.) Blessings.

Use the down time to learn how to write the English language. You may need it some day.

Could be costochondritis. I've had that (cartilage tear in the ribcage that becomes inflamed) and it hurts like mad.

Hope you get feeling better - if you are seriously out of shape in the upper body, you could just have sore muscles. All of these opinions are why you don't want to get advice from the Internet on health issues. If it improves considerably in just a few days you most likely just have sore muscles from doing something you are not accustomed too - but I would assume that you would know that.
