Last night.

24 mm at blue hour.

135 mm just before I left.

About a week ago. Not far from the first two. Clearest night we'd had in a month. I've been wanting to shoot the snowy Olympics at night for a while, but they were hiding.

Looks like I never posted this one in this thread. The conjunction, a few days later. Previous clear night. Also the Vashon ferry.

Cell phone shot of an amazing fast-moving storm rolling in from the west over the S Dakota prairie just at sunrise.

A few others from the same night

Milky Way over Phoenix at 8:26pm

Crecent moon was up and there was enough haze in the sky making it easy to see a flashlight beam.

Looking the other way;

That peak in the middle is Anvil Mountain to which we hiked up to the cliff edge earlier in the day

A 45min exposure ending at 9:38pm.

And back looking toward Phoenix for a 50min exposure ending at 10:20pm

If you want to print a photo with a lot of noise, do you think a matte surface would be a better option?

These are from the night before my buddy and I did Mount Saint Helens. This is way down south, by Oregon, and then inland from the highway - it's a long drive. We camped at "Climbers Bivy" on a Friday night in October, took a few pictures, and went to sleep. Got up a little before dawn with frost on the outsides of our tents and did the Monitor Ridge route. Pretty clear night, a few scattered clouds reflecting Portland's city light with a red reflection. I think that's Andromeda in the first image? There's a little bit of glow in the brighter stars giving the first one a dreamy effect, I don't know if that's something in the atmosphere or condensation forming on the lens.

Same exposure both shots: f/2.8 for 20 seconds, ISO 6400. Canon 5D3 and a 24 mm prime. Hence the noise.

I'd like to make an acrylic print of the portrait one, but I'm a little concerned about all the noise. Any thoughts?

Those are both very nice. I wonder if you can do small test prints of a cropped area (so same effective dpi).
A few other things could help, but they may change your desired look: correct vignetting of lens (first one only) and then reduce exposure overall or bring up black level, reduce saturation, more noise reduction.

When I used to print night sky photos I used matte and semi-matte, but didn't really notice a difference in noise. Generally in prints you see less noise than screen (effectively black level is raised)

The fuzzy stars are most certainly from moisture in sky. Makes for a nice look.

Snowy and Winter

Does this qualify?

Winter (bottom left,) the lazier and slightly less mischievous of the two, is ours. Snowy, the bad boy, is visiting with us while his new owners are away for the weekend. Both are the litter of Tootie, our Queen Mother.

Taken with Samsung Galaxy S9+.

Yup. Winter in the only one we kept from Tootie's first litter of six last June. We kept another two of the five she dropped in her second litter in early November.
