The Bike Tracker
I feel like a hunter stalking prey some mornings when I get to a particular path, where cyclists are known to frequent. and I see tire tracks in the snow. I stop, quietly crouch down to examine the patterns in the snow, and try to discern, from the tread pattern, what type of tires are on these elusive beasts.
Today, there was a superwide tread in the shallow snow. It looked like it could be evidence of a rare Dillinger running low PSI as it was easily 6" wide. Other than the tracks, I didn't see this beast but, assuming the tires were installed correctly, it had gone in the opposite direction as I was and would have left the path before I even arrived.
Next time, I should bring my camera so if I run across one of these mighty beasts again, perhaps I can shoot it as it moves silently through the snow.

Hunting
Hunting is fine as long as it is catch and release.
One good method for determining how old the track is is to lay your ear on the trail and listen.
If you get run over you know it is fresh.
Seriously though that sounds like fun.

You need to install some trail cams if you really want to catch the elusive beast. It may well be nocturnal...

If you really calling want to be heard (herd?) a long way away, cup your hands around your mouth and stretch out that last syllable:
"I run tubeless, how about youuuuuu"
