Anyone use a dynamo hub with their fat bike?

I do on my Salsa Mukluk, but my Mukluk is really for bikepacking, remote bikepacking so I use the dynamo to keep my electronics happy. My dynamo is a SON 28 for fatbikes. Pricey but quality.

SWEET! thanks for the info. I am considering buying a second front wheel with a dynamo and only use it on bikepacking trips as well.

I'm considering the dynamo for my next bike which might be close to a fatbike (a bikepacking bike). For the moment I found that it's way cheaper to have a powerful powerbank and a solar charger. If you want a hub dynamo you will have to build a wheel for that and so it becomes costly. Not only that but to charge eletronics other than a front light, you will also need a converter which is also pricey. If you have the money then I'd do it. If not, then the powerbank+solar charger works fine.
I have the 20100mAh Anker and also a Anker PowerPort Solar Lite 15W.

I have a SON that works with my bluto. The sting of how much that cost hasn't quite faded. But I like to have lights on all my bikes, and I use my fatbike for commuting in extreme cold. I had trouble with battery lights dying on the way home.

I bought a SP, but they had been pulled because of problems with the grease at low temperatures, and my order was cancelled.

I was going to say that SP makes the hubs, but apparently they’ve been pulled?

Also, I would have concerns about rotation speed. Big wheel at slow speeds equals lower spin rate at the hub. My Alfine dyno is happiest above 11-12mph, and depending on conditions, that’s working it on a fat bike.

I think I saw SP was selling them again. But there was a period where they weren't available, and that's when I wanted one. They had an exclusive agreement with cycle monkey for a while, dunno if that is still in place
