Large or Extra Large?
I'm a recreational road rider looking for a new ride. In general, if there are two frame sizes that are supposed to fit you based on your height, would you recommend going with the smaller or larger of the two? I'm 6' 2" which often falls under both a large and an extra large frame size according to frame sizing charts. I guess another way to look at it is, would it be easier to adjust the fit on a frame that may be a little small or one that's a little big or about the same? Thanks in advance.

Recreational road rider...... Does that mean you ride a road bike in a leisurely upright posture and would be better suited on a beach cruiser or old style roadster?

Not really. I currently ride a 1990 Klein Performance (60cm) and am just looking to upgrade to something from this century that is more endurance/comfort rather than race oriented.

If you want a less aggressive position (less drop to the bars, generally), I'd lean toward the larger frame. Possibly with a shorter stem if you have a bit too much reach. The pros seem to size down, get an extra long seatpost and then slam the stem.
