Had this beautiful bike in storage for a few years and finally decided to see what has happened to the market in recent years. I am not able to supply photos at this time. Suffice it to say that this bike is in mint condition. I don't ride it at this point but would like my kids to inherit it.

1984 Cinelli with complete 50th Anniversary Campagnolo Super Record grouppo, Cinelli Supercorsa frame (60 cm)SILVER Columbus SL double butted, Ser#8395G, Rilsan leather saddle, spare tire bag and handlebar tape in Gallo 707 colour ("VIP set"), Futura Regina Extra quick release freewheel set (2 sets in original wooden boxes) , Ambrosio Synthesis Durex rims with Vittoria CorsaCX tubulars (a bit crispy at this point!)

The leather saddle and tape are slightly discoloured from use and the rubber brake hoods are rather hard. Other than that it is in superior shape.

I also have the original bill of sale, the grouppo owners card # 10220, a Cinelli floor pump from the same era, 3 Cinelli decals and 1 Cinelli lapel pin, 2 Campy decals

I'd be interested in what you think this old gal might be worth!

...in terms of the older steel bicycle market (which you mentioned in your post), prices have not rebounded (at least in my location in Northern California) from the significant drops of the past four or five years. I just bought an 80'd Cinelli locally for what I thought a bargain price, because the only other person who had offered to buy it was some guy in Switzerland (from an ebay ad), and the owner did not want to go about the hassles of shipping it. (Sensibly, I think).

Mine is just a straight up early 80's Cinelli, without all the fancy special components you have mentioned. And as already stated, value has a lot to do with condition and appearance for these bicycles. Mine was in reasonable shape, and like yours, appears to have been little ridden. Whenever the weather gets better here I'll strip it down, touch up the paint, and overhaul the mechanicals if they need it.

The 50th Anniversary groupset in built, but near new condition would be worth at least $2000 (any chance you kept the box?)

Vintage Cinelli frames have quite some following.

So.. together you're probably looking at somewhere around $3000. Especially if you spend some time getting rid of the cobwebs.

If you were to try a Buy-It-Now or minimum bid on E-Bay, and planned on waiting a year or so to sell it, then one would probably try $4000 or so (keep in mind that E-Bay will take their chunk of the pie).

I hate to see $200 shipping charges, but that is also a bike that would need a lot of care packing.

Do you happen to know how many of similar outfit were produced? That should add to the value. I think someone will appear that "just has to have it!" and will fork over some decent money, but I agree with the sentiments expressed above regarding depressed pricing.

For what it's worth, you do realize that a Cinelli with SLX tubing would bring in much more than one with SL "only"......
SL and 531 tubing just does not seem to get as much people excited about then like they did, up to the early 80's 's.....

IMO Cinelli is not like Pinarello so much with the SLX tubing. It's the name like DeRosa. Top end stuff then and still around and nice. I wouldn't take less than 4k if condition is almost mint, list at 5k. But would not list here. With 50th, VIP and original docs, it's worth it. That is rare to be that original and documented. Slight downside is no three point lugs but most are not used to them on the 80' and newer models. 80-82 still had, 83 or so was 2 point. But there was no 50th then, so that wins out in overall value.

I have an all original SC (also silver) in minty condition but is 80' Super Record with VIP tire holder, leather VIP bar wrap and VIP saddle, matched pump and portacatena. I would not even consider less than 3k, but it is super clean.

Is it a three hole cinelli? Does the downtube lug have 3 holes in it? If so those are worth a lot more than an SLX cinelli. That is a nice bike and worth over $2,500 and depending on the shape could be more. Pics needed.

The serial number would indicate a 1983 Cinelli, which would still have the lugs with holes.

Pictures are needed, with flaws shown. It sounds like quite a stash.

To get top dollar, put it on eBay with a link to high quality photos of everything. Size may hurt a bit, or bring a premium...who knows? It takes two bidders.

Assuming ridden, but well kept condition, and the spares, maybe $4k US, which is like a million dollars in snow pesos

"Snow Pesos"? 4K us = $5380 Cad. There is no Cinelli worth that. No matter what groupset.

Cinellis can pull that. There is a recent Ebay sale of a restored 70s that sold for $3550 in Feb. An old one from late 50s had list of $4250 but sold on best offer. 50th is probably the most sought after group there is, he has docs, it sounds like Cinelli VIP and probably clean. Sales may be down but the field tends to widen and that makes well known lower volume top models more sought after. Any bike with 50th group list at $3500+ for the most part. There are 4 Cinellis listed 3k + right now with one being 50th and it does not sound this nice. $4995 list. May take a little time as it's not quick sale or here to a member.
