Riding bicycle from Barcelona Airport towards the French Riviera coast

Has any members here biked directly from the Barcelona Airport ? Just wondering if there is some kind of a bike path or bike lane from the Terminal.

It is now really happening as we purchased flight tickets to Barcelona. We will be biking the Spanish, French Riviera to Savona or Genoa Italy. Yay! :-)

Thanks. I will seek them out. I just wasn't sure how dicey it is to get out of the Terminal. I heard there was a bike lane further down the terminal but I wasn't sure about the initial start. There are bike lanes through Barcelona and then we'll just keep close to the coast. I'm not too worried after I get to the ocean. I'm now heavily leaning on just building the bike at the airport, leave the hard case at the airport storage at T2 Terminal for 6 bucks a day it isn't totally cost prohibitive and biking straight from there.

I used the Map Library at the University.. A Uni with a Geography Department would have one..

They may have a detailed map of the Airport layout, & the surrounding area..

Round trip, stay @ a hotel near the airport, and they may store your case ,
and then use the same hotel to get it back in the case..

'open jaws' route , leaving from airport in France, or Italy, find a hotel near that one ,
Make an Advanced reservation, and ask if you can ship your empty case there ...

I found the bike lane. It is about 1 mile from the airport. That should work fine. When we return we will bike directly to the airport. Retrieve the case and pack our bicycle and then if we have spare days to spend in Barcelona we will check it back in or check it directly for our flight.

Have you found a suitable path to the bike path? IIRC, everytime I've been to Barcelona it was major highways in and out, not sure if there is a small road access to it.

Also, depending on who you are flying with, make sure it is actually El Prat you are arriving at, some of the low cost airlines use one about 60 miles from town labelled as "Barcelona"

Once you get to town, there is a lot of nice (albeit congested) seaside riding.

I've never been there before but the street view images from Walrus' map look fairly ridable all the way to to bike path...

I'm flying Norwegian from London. Check out this link for the directions I found from the Terminal to the bike path
