Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The trick is to get there at exactly 10am and operate with clockwork precision. Your experience is fairly accurate, though in Austin the engines are somewhat smaller.

Not that I am going to buy one, but I see Stages has dropped their prices on their power meters, now entry level 105 single sided is $299.

Hmm...

All my friends are boasting how they will ride in just shorts today. IMO that’s crazy talk. I like knees covered unless it’s well above 60F.

I listened to a podcast about Costco and I don’t remember them saying that but who knows.

Good for you guys. We had 50s the last couple days and I got one ride in but I couldn’t do it yesterday despite being calm, albeit damp. Still fighting a head cold and I’m in that every other day suffering mode which seems to come near the end (I hope).

Have a most excellent ride.

I got stuck doing a walk last evening. Darkness fell before I concluded, but along the sidewalk I passed a guy on a trike who had a dog in the rear plastic tub. It must have been a short ride, as there were no provisions for the dog. 2manybikes

Some guy passed me shaking a drinking bottle and muttering something about people saying oxygen wouldn't explode. I'm glad that encounter only lasted three seconds.

I looked a couple days ago and they had some previous gen 105 arms for $199.

Open the wallet. You know you want to.

Shoot, Merlin cycles have mega-sidi genius 7s on sale. Had I not “just” had carbon handlebars (also sale) shipped from chain reaction, I’d instantly pulled the trigger on the Sidis. Well if I return the Les Paul kit I just bought

Aha, it’s often interesting to discover how or why folks chose a username.

BillyD is just a nickname friends from the 70s gave me.

Note to self: quote links to previous pages is now officially dead, for me at least. (Other’s mileage may vary).
