Keep in mind that these have free lifetime crash and wear replacement or repair.I'm looking at the Rapha Classic Winter Jacket for $192 which is made from Polartec Power Shield Pro. This is not a cycling specific garment but Polartec fabric is amazingly warm and I use it as a base and mid layers depending on the temperature. It wicks well and dries instantly. This is a very good price for high-end gear which can be worn on and off the bike.

To be clear, they are not full carbon.
They are built by laminating layers of carbon onto a pared down alloy skeleton, sort of a hybrid alloy/carbon design which is supposed to give the best of both worlds, strength where it is needed, blah blah blah.
I own Dura Ace road wheels with similar construction. They are sub 1400 grams for the pair so yeah, pretty light.
I'd have bought these on the spot if they were 29er. It is the first time I really looked at the Velomine site. They have some interesting stuff.
