Revising this post as I have found a part to play role however not quite astatically with were I would like to be so I am continuing my search.

Looking for some oldie but goody Shimano aero/top mount down tube shifters. The odds are good someone has these oxidizing aero/top mount down tube shifters sitting in their parts bins they are looking to move:

Shimano aero Z401series shifters.

Look like these:

Marc

Actually it's likely impossible to swap out Suntour shift levers, they are complex and proprietary.

Shimano made a DT shifter mount for the Aero or B mount. I have one on my Nishiki Cresta. Pic below.

I have a pair of Campy shifters coming in the mail that apparently have a top-tube mount adapter. I will not be needing it. I'll PM you when it gets here if it looks like it could work.

Not so fast, easily done if you know what you are doing. Here is my 81 Team Miyata with a "B" to "A" conversion. Now using Shimano Dura Ace SL-7800, 10 speed fr/index.

Sorry I inferred that you wanted to swap Shimano indexed shift levers on to Suntour Symmetric mounts.

I have a functioning set of ARX shifters, complete with the clamp. Let me know if you're interested! I've just taken them off a mid 80's Univega.

That looks to be a Gipiemme aero adapter and IIRC, it requires its own special mount.

If the OP is interested, I have a set of Shimano Golden Arrow shifters and some other Suntour shifters that should meet his requirements.

Shimano also made 600 series shifter that fit on one of these aero bosses.

From what I've seen the Shimano boss is more of a rectangular shape with beveled edges and Suntour's was a simple threaded cylinder (with hole extending into the downtube). The Suntour (non-symmetric) mount is nice because you can easily mod it with a file to accept standard square boss shifters.

Jeirvine do you still have this adapter? Can you send me a closer pic of them?
I thinks its the missing piece of my Aero mount problem.

Long gone. I'll see if I can dig up any pics I took though.
Good luck with your quest.

Ok thank you for the Picture. It seems that there are some other Versions i know. Fortunately it is what i need for my 80s Motta Crono Aero Frame. I have to hone down the wedge, than it must fit my aero Mount.
Can you send me your Mail? I cant write any private messages as newbie.

I think you misunderstood - I sold it a while back. I just posted pics as folks were interested in what it looked like.

It does look similar to the one that came on my aero Motta, but I changed mine out (ground it to fit ) to fit a B-Mount DuraAce setup. I think I sold mine several years ago - and IIRC someone told me they were made by Gipiemme.

This picture is oriented upside down,
I thought I had ground the "T" off, but looking at the bike now I didn't

I use cable liner where the cable runs through the holes. It was a necessity with using index shifting, as was running cable housing inside much of the frame (around the BB, etc)
I would not recommend index shifting. It took me a while to sort out.
