Removing lug-lining without damaging powdercoat
Hey, alll...
As part of the sorta-build of my 1985 League Fuji, I want to remove the purple outlining of the lugs and re-do it in forest green. The lining paint that's on it looks like nail polish. In searching the forums, (before I grabbed the nail polish remover and cotton pads from the bathroom,) I learned that acetone dissolves powdercoat, so that's out.
So, how to remove it?

I would start with something fairly mild like mineral spirits or paint thinner.
The acetone might even work if you wipe it off fairly quickly. Powder coat is pretty tough stuff to remove. Maybe try a tiny inconspicuous spot first, like on the bottom of the lug that joins the down tube to the head tube.
