Okay, my Lemond Poprad upgrade is nearly done. Just wheels next.
I added the Ritchey WCS forks and Chris King headset today.

I don't take it off-road often, but here is my Bianchi Volpe. I think it's a mid-90's model. I ride this more than my (too-many) other bikes.

That looks like a great frame with all the right features, including long chainstays, plenty of rack mounts and ample room for 700x40 tires. I assume it can take a road or MTB crank. The large gaps between sizes is the only issue I have with the frame.

Unique Vintage Steel
Gaps in sizing isn't as bad as it seems at first look. With the higher bars, the 55cm fits me perfectly where my custom Kirk is a 58x56cm

Ghost I think I would slow you down! LOL but since I have a fellow 604 here may I ask a question..
I do plan of commuting to work but would still like to take the occasional off road paths if I feel.
Could you suggest tire type/ size that will make my trip more speedy but still confident to go off road if I want to? Also keeping in mind our type of weather ( rain )
thank!

I don't always ride fast, I often ride slower when riding with a group. I save hard riding on my solo missions. If you're planning to do the downtown crawl PM me.
We can chat bikes anytime.
I'm a partial(former fulltime) commuter, so I have a good idea of our roads.
I ride with Continental Gatorskins in 700x28C.
So far so good, I use Specialized Armadillos in 700x23C, 700x28C, & they're good commuting tires.
I'm comfortable in Trout Lake, & Central park with these tires.
If I'm riding strictly gravel/dirt/sand/mud I throw on my Maxxis Locusts 700x31C.(CX tires) I've done light snow in these bad boys too.
Downside not good puncture protection, & soft compound/sidewalls.
The tread wear is not great on these guys, I only pull them out when I need to.
