2nd Set of Wheels for Hydraulic Disc Bike
Is anyone using multiple sets of wheels on bikes with hydraulic disc brakes? I'd like to have some smooth 80% street tires on a set of wheels and a set of larger diameter rougher thread tires on another set of wheels but I don't want to have to adjust calipers everything I switch.
What would the likelyhoodbe og getting another wheelset where the rotors would fit in calipers the same as another set?

If the new wheels have exactly the same hubs, quite high, if not, not so much.

You could probably get it to work but it would require very careful initial setup. Sort of the way Protour mechanics have to shim and adjust cassettes so their rider's bikes shift properly with several wheels. You will have to shim one or both of the rotors and/or hubs to assure they are in exactly the same plane when installed.

I have two wheelsets with different hubs. The discs are positioned fairly similarly. You can use shims on one set to get them aligned with respect to the other. It isn't a big deal.

It is quick and simple to recenter the caliper and fix a rub. Loosen caliper bolts, squeeze and hold brake lever, tighten caliper bolts. Adds about 30 seconds each to your wheel swap process. You only need verified matched sets if you are getting wheels from a team car.

I have an extra set of wheels for the purpose of ez switch of tires. I actually use them on 2 bikes and have no issues with the switching. Mine are mechanical but I think it should work well with hydraulics comparable hubs and rotors.

I have TRP Spyre cable operated discs, and two different wheelsets, one with high profile aero rims, and another with lower profile (so I don't get blown off the road). The hubs are not the same mfr, and the disc rotors are different, TRP and Maguro. Both interchange, no problem. I can't see why hydro discs should be any different.

I figured I'd be able to shim hubs and disk to get them exactly right but did plan to buy another set identical to the ones I have if I did setup another set for that bike. Of course, there is always the chance that I find a deal too good to pass up used on Ebay.
