New Soma Wolverine build
I've been riding mountain bikes for ever. I took a break from riding for a few years and packed on a few pounds. I wanted to get back into riding but was looking for something different. I decided to put together a gravel bike. The guys at my local Trek store were a big help.
I ended up choosing the Soma Wolverine. I wanted a steel frame and fork and I like the ability to run a belt drive with the Soma. I've put a couple hundred miles on the bike so far and love it. A real pleasure to ride. I'm a big guy at around 260 Lbs, so I built it up pretty tough. It came in around 25 lbs when it was done.
Soma Wolverine frame and fork
Thomson stem, bars and seat post
Rival 1x11 with double tap shifters ans Sram cassette
Hayes disc brakes
Brooks saddle
Crank Bros pedals
White industries cranks and 45t chainring
Chris King head set
Chris King bottom bracket
Chris King front and rear hubs
Derby carbon fiber hoops
DT Swiss downhill spokes and brass nipples
WTB 650b tires
Jagwire, Hope, Salsa bits here and there.

Nice - I have the doublecross. Actually looking for a new set of tires. Running Kenda Small block 700 x 32c - but want a more center beaded tire now. How do you like the WTB's? Mostly hardpack and roads for me.

I'm running the WTB Biway 47s. I love them. I'm riding mostly hardpack and a little pavement but they seem pretty good in the loose stuff too. They roll great. I'm running 45 pounds in the rear and 35-40 pounds in the front.

Just throwing this out there. I recently put a pair of Specialized Pathfinder Pros on my bike, 700x38. Highly pleased with them so far. Haven't been this impressed with a tire in a while. You might want to check them out.

I know this is old, but....What made you go with 650b and not 700c?
