LOL!!!!! You’re spot on. I just finished season 8 and was pleasantly surprised... season 6 and 7 didn’t do much for me.

I always wondered why why they never used bicycles on the show... seems like it would be more energy efficient than running around everywhere on foot 😂

You're reading my mind. I get unreasonably annoyed at the lack of bikes in post apocalyptic fiction. People should be using their precious gas on generators etc. rather than to just cruise around with

Nimblewill Church Rd., Dahlonega, GA.

Just down the road from the Jake Mountain Parking lot where many MTB and gravel rides start.

I had a great ride today on the local roads. I found this "lawn art" on one of the local back roads.

Old cars and a painted barn

The nicest barn in Salford Township.

Went on my usual Sunday ride down to the university. Stopped and got a couple groceries for dinner, and went home. Stopped and snapped a pic with the donkey in my neighborhood

You live in the desert, right?

That's the Silver Comet Trail, the second longest paved trail in the US. There is a Silver Comet Trail photo thread in the Southeast forum.

The trail goes through the 26,000 acre Paulding Forest Wildlife Management Area. I saw eight deer today shortly before sunset. Little known fact among locals is that none of the deer in Georgia are native. They were all hunted out and what's here now is a different species imported from Alabama.

I see lots of turkey too. Never saw a gobbler but groups of ten hens will often be on the transition between woods and meadow. Them things are ugly as sin.

I saw a smallish black bear this summer, up north in the mountains, and a group of about eight female and juvenile boars. The boars scared the crud out of me. Bats. Lots of Copperhead and Grey Rat snakes. I heard an Eastern Timber Rattler but never saw one.

It has been rainy here and should remain so all week. Today was a full blown rain ride - 38 miles at 48°f with steady rain and all it entails. Helmet cover, Gore-Tex jacket. Chemical hand/toe warmers. What an ordeal. I need a better system for my feet as water is getting into the booties from the top.

Atlanta Bike Ride Pics if you want to browse my North Georgia cycling photos.

Y'all come down. <-- that's an invitation.

Yesterday and today I rode along the coast. Saturday North to Santa Barbara and Sunday South on PCH.

It was a beautiful day for riding, plenty of sunshine, not too cold and little wind.

The only risk are falling rocks on PCH.

Thanks for asking. It is the Southern Cross gravel race which is an icon here in the south.

I finished 197th.

37/61 in my age group and 27 minutes faster than last year. https://www.strava.com/activities/2187107757.

We raced hard even that far back. I was elbow to elbow with a woman the last ten miles. She wouldn't give an inch. Thought I was going to puke.

A few pro MTB racers showed up and some of the really fast women roadies from Atlanta. Hicapie and Vande Velde chickened out. I chatted with Alexey Vermeulen (3rd place) while waiting in line to rinse our bikes. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

So much fun...
