Friday was an early ride and after lunch ride. Both were from the remote start location at Ross Prarie Trailhead. This allowed the group to ride trails not normally ridden during previous SOORTA Santos events, due to the distance away from the campground. Both rides were great trail choices.

Friday night we did a night ride on trails near the campground. Distance was short at under 5 miles, and less than an hour of riding. Not sure on how many tandems rode, guessing more than 15. Pretty cool to see all those tandems lighting up the singletrack, and riding single file through twisty singletrack.

Saturday, we rode from the campground the few hundred feet to the teailhead. As a group, we rode the west bound epic route to the Landbridge trailhead. Suffice to say there were a few single bike riders grabbing thier phones and capturing video as the tandems rolled past. So after about 11 miles of a well paced, no perfectly paced group ride to Landbridge trailhead, we headed out to the Landbridge itself for the group photo on top of tne Landbridge that spans across Interstate 75.

After the photo, the faster riders blasted tight singletrack to the sag at the 49th ave underpass. The riders not wanting to ride the technical stuff took various other routes including the paved bike path.

After the sag, teams wanting an easier ride back grouped and rode back with a well experienced local team. The longer distance group kept hammering singletrack until we all regrouped at the “Widowmaker” for some jump runs launching tandems airborn. After that we all headed back to the campground.

Saturday was a session of T shirt printing and pot luck dinner, followed by a great campfire.

Sunday never seems to ride everything planned. We did ride twister, then visited the Vortex freeride area, then we went and played on some rocks, big rocks. Experienced teams or teams wanting to try the challenge did, newer teams got to see that what looks impossible can often be ridden.

Great event.
