Suntour TA260 Hub Tool

I have attempted to make the Suntour TA260 hub tool that fits the Suntour Sealed Bearing Mountain hubs from the mid-eighties, but the hardened steel is proving tough to shape with standard files. Does anyone have one or the set that they can spare?

What makes you think you need hardened steel? For any use other than daily work adjusting those hubs for a living, I would assume even an aluminum or brass tool would be sufficient. Also with softer metal you'll have an easier time making the notches smooth so as to not ding the notches in the hub cones.

There's one on EvilBay right now if you're so inclined. A bit pricey but hey, what's your time worth?

I had a pair of these hubs and I developed some trick to adjusting them, which currently escapes me. Knowing me, I probably used something like a pin spanner. Probably not even a bike-specific one, but rather the one you use to tighten or loosen the nut that holds the disc on an angle grinder. Or a thin wrench inserted sideways? Or needle nose pliers as an improvised spanner? I really don't recall.

Have two sets of these hubs built into wheels. Using a damaged 13mm cone wrench which is hardened steel. I have used a Park adjustable BB cup tool with the flat pins on it, but it marks up the adjusting over nut. Want to avoid that in the future. The rear hub the tool is not needed, but for adjusting the front hub it is required. I'll just go out and get a cheapo file and work the tool into shape. This is going to take a long, long time.
I saw the one on Evilbay, however I don't do the bay.

Thumpism, that would be spectacular if you did. Boyd's Bikes of London has repops, but not sure they will ship to USA. Rather deal with someone in country anyway.

@TiHabanero, here it is. I'm sure I've used it, but probably not more than one bike's worth.
