Got to working on a few bikes this afternoon with a big fan blowing on me in the garage . And of course with each saddle change and tire swap I had to test ride them . Added another five miles to my total.

Sound like a great trail .
Wish I could get my wife to riding . I’ve offered to buy her a trike and she refuses to try .

cut back a little this morning. Had a little hip pain after two days of 10 mile rides and expect a longer ride coming up midweek. The hip pain is better this morning.
Edit : I added a set of Maxxis Hookworms to my Electra C1 and of course had to ride it . Adding three miles to my totals

09/07 - 52.15 - cheating myself and it shows. Took 3.5 hours for 52 miles because I am only riding one per week. Need to get out more. Missed a few chances to do some night rides BUT I will get better as every mile counts, especially the recovery ones after long rides. Still think I need a coach as well but that is a different story. Down 40+ lbs in a year and it is becoming harder to drop the last 20 lbs.

GOAL - 300
MTD - 52.15
YTD - 1716.31

Observations after being off the bike for 8 days. I’m totally recovered, and my legs feel great. Not such a great ride this morning despite the extra oxygen of 11,000 feet less elevation for the past week. I’m hoping tomorrow’s ride will be better.

I'm on pace to break 200 this month . I may not ride tomorrow. It’s range day and I leave home around the time I usually ride and when I get home it’s usually too hot to ride . If I do ride it’ll be a short neighborhood ride just to keep my legs stretched out .
edit : worked on a MTB of mine , added some Cruiser tires and finally fixed the front disc brake that was dragging. Made a world of difference in the speed of the bike .
Added in my 2.1 mile test ride .

I just looked at my ride data for today's ride compared to a similar ride (near identical route/mileage but with slightly less elevation gain) two days before I left.

Eight days off the bike did me no favors. While my legs felt good, my average power was down about 13 watts, average speed was down 1 MPH (I don't really worry much about average speed), but my average heart rate was up 22 BPM! Overall abut 65 kJ less work. I expected all of that, except my heart rate. I'm surprised it was that elevated.

It will be interesting to see if it takes about the same amount of time to get my average heart rate back to where I was (or longer) or less time.

I've recently become interested in heart rate variability. I expected my average HRV to go up with time off the bike and away from work, and it did, by maybe 10 ms. I would have anticipated a greater increase. But, in retrospect, I did some pretty serious off-road dirt bike riding most days (at 10-12k elevation), and I didn't sleep well all week. So, I saw peaks and valleys in my daily HRV readings. However, the peaks were higher than what I normally see, and the valleys were a little lower.

Looking at data from this morning's ride. Average heart rate went down 13 BPM from yesterday and power and average speed are both up close to normal. So maybe after a few more days everything will be back to normal.

got my 5 in this morning, going try to get an afternoon ride in . Weather is supposed to be partly cloudy 93 this afternoon. Not cool , but better than it has been . Supposed to change next week with some morning temps in the 50’s instead of the 70’s we’ve been having.
3.8 mile ride this afternoon after swapping grips on my Roll and filling my kickstand so the tire doesn’t rub when cornering hard left.
