Building up free Fuji FF

I was given a Fuji Ace frame/fork a few months ago from a BF member, Cyclingfool95. I also acquired, for cheap, a Scattante bike that has Sora components. I stripped everything off the Scattante and started putting it all on the Fuji Ace. All I did to the Fuji FF was clean them up and install a new BB-UN55, the headset seems to be fine. Other than handlebar, stem, chain and tires that i already had, the Fuji now has all Sora components on it. The wheels are Alex R 500 with Formula hubs from the Scattante. I took it out for a short shakedown ride yesterday. It has a nice ride and still needs some tuning. I mounted used 28mm Hutchinson Fusion tires that I already had on hand and it looks like room for up to 32s. I will be getting some miles on it soon. Thanks to Cyclingfool95!

Looks nice! I'm glad to see it back on the road after so many years (last time I used it on the road was 1993). Is the Sora 9 or 10? No issues with the derailleur hanger repair hitting the smallest cog?

It is 9 speed for now. I have RD set so that the chain will not jump onto the small cog. I am not sure about the triple. I am going to keep it for now and get some miles on it. I would like to get a day or two to get to some hills. That may happen over the upcoming holidays. I still drive a school bus and we have a 16 day break. I got in maybe 10 miles today. It is a pretty stiff frame for being steel. I like it.

It's really not a bad bike, although quite heavy (frame is about a pound heavier than my SLX Pinarello). I bought it in 89 to replace my Schwinn Traveler III that got stolen. It came as basically a fully blacked out bike. The only things not black were the 6-speed cogs (gold), and spokes (silver), and that gold tone seatpost bolt. Crankset was an ugly SR Sakae Biopace setup, and derailleurs were indexing Suntour Edge/Blaze. After I bought my Pinarello in 92, this bike was my indoor ride, setup with the 7-speed Chorus from the Pinarello (which got 8 speed Ergo in 93). Most recently I had it setup with Shimano 10-speed (a mix of Tiagra/105 and Microshift levers), like you with the smallest cog locked out. I didnt mind jamming a Shimano wheel in the frame but didnt want to do that with my new Wahoo Kickr, which is when you inherited it. It's going to be much happier getting out on the road with you.

It is on the heavy side but it is going to get banged around some. Durability, I suspect, is going to be a plus. Ability to put racks on front or back also a plus.
