They stole my bike!

Two locked doors AND a big fat lock on the bike, and still someone manages to steal it.
And I loved that bike.
Well, the good part I guess is that I get to buy a new one so any suggestions are more than welcome. I'm thinking Specialized Sirius, or maybe just maybe I'll dare the leap and get myself my first roadie...

Sounds like you need to get a beater. I nicer bike will only be a bigger target for theft.

Sounds like Sweden has some very determined thieves. Any bike you get, take the front wheel and seatpost with you. And lock it up w/ a big lock that offers theft insurance.

The ultimate theft resistant bike:
an old-school schwinn beater...chipped paint, non-collectable model, sturmey-archer hub.
Only nice parts allowed are centerpull brakes and alloy rims (for better pad bite).
I'm about ready to find a "womens" schwinn "racer" to turn into a beater. I couldn't care if the toptube is low...I just want something I don't have to pull ballet-style moves to get off of all the time.

No, seriously, I'm crushed. I did love that bike. And I did love biking to work.
The trains (and people on them) are killing me AND I'm getting fat. But there's a sale at my LBS with a Columbus Pinta for an extraordinary cheap prize. I think I'll go with that.

I'd bet money it's someone you know or a neighbor. How else would they know what was behind a closed and locked door worth breaking in?

Get a folding bike. Only way they can steal it is by breaking into your house. If they do that, you got bigger problems. I heard them Swedish criminals can be rude. Some of them may even be disheveled.

I ride a light blue 70's women's Schwinn Traveler 10-speed. $15, yard sale. Chipped/scratched paint, non-working gear levers, and still some surface rust I haven't gotten to cleaning off yet. It's a nice, smooth ride though! Here's a pic, with all my additions:
