Morning Trainer Workouts
Who does them?
I'm wondering how many people in the forums ride their trainers before starting their day/going to work. I used to go to the gym some mornings to lift, until my Starting Strength workouts started taking longer than 45 min. I'm thinkin about flipping that around and doing a trainer ride in the morning instead, since I can literally roll out of bed and jump on the trainer.

That's about how I would want to do things. Although I get into zone 3 fairly easily since I have been sick for a while. Trying to get back to that cardio state I was at during the summer, while managing a busy schedule.

I would love to ride earlier, but can't seem to. There's a group of folks in my town who get out to ride just about everyday at 5:45 and I always feel good when I do get out with them, but I haven't done it enough to where it's something I can do with regularity. 10am seems to be my sweet spot, and it's not really a matter of having breakfast or anything, mainly just being able to enjoy some coffee and mentally wake up.

I used to get up 1/2 hour earlier, get a coffee and do 30' of just zone 1 every morning before work. No sweat, not tiring, no downside except going to bed 1/2 earlier.

I normally ride outside but there’s a front coming in so I just went out to the garage to set up the bike to Zwift it up in the morning.

I have my bike on the trainer right for the same reason. Arkansas had a state record for rainfall in February, and the temp has been so irregular that I haven't bothered to take it off the trainer yet. I am planning on buying some new wheels with my tax refund, so I will keep one wheel ready to go for the trainer (trainer tire, etc) to make set-up quicker. May end up getting a new cassette so I don't need to switch that out as well.

"Off-season" - on the rollers, bright and early. 25 mins tues-friday (mondays are break-day). No way after work, walk in at 7pm, need dinner. Of course, having a 75-minute commute each-way and a 7:30am start time doesn't give me a lot of latitude...
And I found that working out before bed isn't really a good idea for me.

I don't ride the trainer but I commute 15 miles in the morning. Its a good way to work on fat adaption by going into the ride with low glycogen or at least low blood sugar. Staying in z2 for most of the ride when starting out is key

My commute in the morning is about an hour long, so that takes care of that, but years past I've done training on a Concept 2 indoor rowing machine. No harm in mixing things up.
