I ride on steel when in the Southeast, too. Even in triathlons.
Nothing wrong with having a bike named for the legend....

The disc cover is cloth, so 80's.

I converted this second hand Specialized Allez Sport into my tri-ride. Up until now its ok. I think eventually I would like a transition or....ehm....shiv.
I changed:
- Stem, for a shorter one
- Handlebars, for a Wing T2
- added T2 aero bars
- Shifters, brakes, cables, etc.

I've don'e several Olympic and Ironman 70.3's and just finished my first almost full Ironman distance triathlon in Japan's Strongman Triathlon. It's a 3K swim 155K bike and 42K run. During the race I would of told you that I'm never doing that kinda of distance race again, but now 2 days later I'm starting to change me mind.

My son's Cervelo P2C Ultegra
The original frame has a crack in the head tube and Cervelo gave him a replacement. That's why it has a red fork on it from the old frame.

Thanks Triguy! I am loving it so far. This was the bike (the model, not the actual bike) that Lance rode in the 2003 Tour De France time trial. It was my "budget Ebay build" and I have about $1700 into it, including the Zipps, which are also approximate 2004 vintage with new decals. The SRAM cassette and chain are amazingly crisp. I need to raise the armrests about 3/4" to really be comfortable on it, but I still averaged 21 mph on it in the pouring rain at my duathlon this past weekend.

Just finished this build about a month ago...too bad a month ago, I twisted my knee. I got to ride it yesterday and today for the first time. Sooooooo smooth. Shifting was great. First time on a Tri bike my brother and I put together. By the way, should the rear shifter of Dura Ace rattle a little bit? Is that normal? Or maybe I have a loose washer running about in it? Let me know your thoughts.
Also, I just got a sweeet deal on some zipp 606 tubulars which I will post later. I'll need to get a new 10 spd cassette with that too.

Lotus Elite 600, circa 1987. Yes, those are 2 different sized wheels. It was designed that way, and I love it!
