Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I usually try not to be rude to other forum members, but I'll make an exception in this case - PLEASE STFU! It's bad enough that you're being a troll, but being an unoriginal troll is just unforgivable.

I feel the same way about people who ride Colnagos and Bianchis. I'll see your prison and raise you a cell with a 300lb gorilla called Bubba.

What's wrong with Bianchis? It's not like they're ridden by condescending elitists.

Didn't all the winning jerseys in the 2005 TdF go to riders using Shimano? I realize these guys are getting paid to use Shimano, but if Shimano was really that inferior do you really think they could have had so much success?

If I had a choice, and/or I was building a bike from scratch, I'd probably pick campy stuff. But I wouldn't let it influence which bike I bought if I prefered everything else about a certain bike.

I like Shimano. I like Campy. Do I get my own special prison? Hopefully with Sports Illustrated swimsuit models for guards.

I have both and I like both, also. For Shimano Dura Ace, I especially like the crank (7800) and brakes. And for Campy Record, I like the thumb shifting and the hoods. Can't have it all, I guess

Yes you can. Well sort of. Mix and match Shimano and Campagnolo components to piss off everyone with those fragile sensibilities. Do it on an Italian frame for added effect.
