Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Partial road set up... just a different front wheel/tire. Gearing is too low for real road use though.

My DB Haanjo Trail. Swapped tires for 700x28 Schwalbe One, swapped bars for 42cm Bontranger Race Lite VR, Kalloy Uno 110mm stem, Ritchey WCS carbon seat post and generic Chinese spider saddle. Bike weighs right around 20 lb in current config minus pedals, cages and computer.

I will probably get some cheap, light chinese carbon wheels for on road and keep stock wheels and tires for off road but bike will be 90% on road. Stock wheels are beasts. I weighed them with cassette and rotors and was about 2900 g for the pair. I estimate 700g for cassette and rotors but probably 2200 g. Bike climbs much better when new tires (which also cut over 1 lb of weight). Wheels will will probably cut another 1 1/3 pounds

I bought set of their rim brake wheels and have been pretty happy. There are many other sellers though. This is another popular but more expensive brand

Wheels - Bicycle Wheels

Still much less than Zipp

Thanks! I had looked at Baixiang a while ago and didn't see any. Either I missed them, or it was longer than I realized. These look pretty nice. I'd love a set of Enve wheels but ...

I do love the Clement MSO tires, but I'll probably put on Compass Barlow 38 all black extralight and add SKS P45 fenders. I am falling for the big tire thing. Cush is king! However this Crossrip is anything but Cush.... For now it works, but looking for a replacement. Always bike shopping, even if I am not buying.

Looking for big tires? Have you considered the 920 disc? It's kind of an oddball but I like it.

After recently demo riding a Cannondale Slate Road and on the local MTB trails. Trek can Kiss my _______
I'd even be game for the Diamondback EXP for touring/ bike packing. For everyday sporty street riding on a bike that can take some serious off the beaten path riding. Cannondale Slate!!!!

a 25 year old Schwinn Crosscut gives more performance than the Trek Crossrip!! And it fits larger tires than the Crossrip!
