I wonder if Bill ever runs into this situation when rummaging for bikes: You have to stop because you run out of room to transport them in your vehicle!
Case in point. I went rummaging on a Thursday morning a few weeks ago in the bedroom communities surrounding Madison, WI, as that's where the nice houses and the nice bikes are. First bike purchased by 7am. I had to stop by 11am because I was now at my Honda Fit's capacity of three bikes on a roof rack and four bikes in the backseat. Yep, I would have kept going if I had more room.

I've had seven bikes inside my Honda Element, each one laying horizontal, pedals and handlebars removed. This time I have the F150, but its pretty full of regular camping gear. I added a rack for two bikes on top of my tonneau cover, and the Yakima rack I picked up will go on the back of the camper. The Litespeed and Merckx are safely tucked inside the truck bed, under the locked cover.
First night out on this trip. No bikes visible, but our two regular rides are under the cover. No more, they got bumped to the tonneau cover. I mounted roof rack trays on top of the cover.

On riser stems, I like them myself. But the one on the Merckx is got to be one of the ugliest ones out there! I have stopped looking, so another bike would have to fall out of the sky for me to grab it!

It isn't just ugly but it weighs a ton. It is still sitting in my stems drawer after about 4 years.

In my world, the lesser bikes from this haul, are considered nice scores. You came home with nice vintage bikes. And that Litespeed is for me, a bike local to me (being that it's built in Chattanooga, Tennessee). I like every bike in this thread, each has a story. Compliments to you on your photography and writing, both superb. Bike Forums on a high note, excellence personified.

Yard/Garage Sales have been pretty decent for me this year too, though have yet to yield me a frame my size, uhg! Have purchased four bikes so far this year, fixed up and flipped one already, two waiting on me to have the time to fix up and flip, and one that the frame was damaged and thus stripped it for salvage.

Happens all the time. Just the other day I saw something shiny in a creek. Two hours later I was tired and bored from collecting gold nuggets. They are heavy too.

Nice thread here. Plenty of good looking stuff. If you ski regularly that ski wax station should be handy. Waxed skis move so much better. 3 Alarmer, in addition to your Bob Jackson, I like your idea of the Workmate repair stand. I may copy it. I have a Park, however, this may be easier to move around and set up. As also mentioned, nice camper.
Maybe a picture of the trumpet? I would love to start playing again. Maybe when I retire.

Sold the Trek today, right from the campsite. Good thing too, as the rack I was going to mount on the back of the trailer doesn't fit (it won't clear the spare tire).
First time I have sold a bike on a trip. Gave the buyer a great deal as it had to go. Dismantling the 1984 DX-4000 I picked up earlier, as it doesn't fit either....
The bell on the Trumpet has some damage, not bad. And a trumpet with case for $5? I had to do it. It was the third trumpet I saw that morning at garage sales, and we only did two neighborhoods. Also saw an upright Bass.

The bell on the trumpet can be fixed. I had it done on mine back when I was in middle school. Nowadays, there are Youtube videos that show how craftspeople that work with brass instruments do it. $5 for a trumpet is a deal.

My kids all play instruments, so I would definitely buy one for $5, even just to use for decoration.
