I'd go back to 1999, taking modern drug testing equipment with me, and nip in the bud the biggest blot to ever tarnish our sport.
While I never saw Merckx live at the TdF, I did see him at his peak, taking the Triple Crown of cycling by beating Poulidor in the final sprint of the 1974 World Championship road race.
