Giving up Ti and going back to carbon

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Will be a cold day.... Currently at 7 pages, I'd call this a successful troll. Compare this to the earlier efforts that got Hot R Not locked. Much more sophisticated. The image of clyde-and-a-half aero on the Madone will stay with us!

After seeing his setup on the Vortex, I need to see the Madone fit to his riding position.

That's far. My ti was conceived and built 12 miles from my front door. I rode it home from the shop one day after work.

Nor can the thread's basis in reality be validated without them side x side.

I think so too. If ti is superior to carbon, why wouldn't you use it for rims and forks?

Should of took a pic but oh well too late. Love the disc brakes though and love it enough to not miss the vortex

It's sometimes used for forks. Two reasons why ti rims aren't a thing: poor heat conduction for rim brakes, and the fact it's too tricky to extrude and form.

Those are good reasons, but not complete dealbreakers, although the latter one comes close... 3D-printed 6al4v ti disc rims would be the frikken bomb.

Maybe some day soon... gonna cost ya, but.

That bike looks like it's buckling, like it's had too much dessert.

Ya that bike is like a fine caviar on the road. The madone is more harsh unfortunately.

From what you have stated you are just under 300lbs so that should soften things up on the Madone plus now that you have discs run some wide tires 32+ and you will be riding on a cloud.

8 pages and going don't let this thread die! What tires do you recommend I say Continental Gatorskins or Schwalbe Marathons.

Oh? That IsoSpeed not working for you, or did you just forget that it was there?

Meh I will say using the disc brakes on a down hill and experiencing the much improved modulation was orgasmic.

Ah. So you forgot that the Madone has it and you're trolling? Or it just doesn't work as advertised?

The bike may be squished before he could wear out a Gatorskin.

You let your secret out, and though you may have been the first on your block to try it, now all the kids are doing it.

Maybe he got one without IsoSpeed. That's why it was only $1900.
