46,34 crankset options for RSD Catalyst Stainless Steel frame
Righto,
- Require high end crankset with a dual chainring 46,34 combo.
- BSC bottom bracket
- 175mm crank arm
- Building up a 2 x 11 speed
Must be mountain bike because road/cyclocross options don't fit!
i.e. have tried a Campy CX 11 speed crankset and it simply isn't wide enough. Very temped to chop the Campy BB in half move the bearing inward, and have a sleeve threaded in to get the width I require.
Any suggestions guys?
Hope/Rotor - finding it very difficult to get the 46,34 combo
It will have to be a Mtn bike crankset I think unless one of you can offer up something cool.

On yer bike
Can you explain this "isn't wide enough" thing? That bike uses a standard width bottom bracket shell from what I can reckon. That should allow the use of pretty much any crankset. Probably the best route is to buy a 46/36 crankset and then swap out the 36 for a 34.

Looks like a pretty cool frame. I agree, just normal 68mm bb and their built up version seems to use a mega exo and 40t single. Does have 135 rear, so is chainstay interference the problem? Maybe something went wrong with your Campy installation? CX70 crank and replace the 36 with 34?

Sugino OX91D Compact+I prefer the look of the non-classic model at the bottom of the page. Comes 46/34 with 175 arms. Not sure about the bottom bracket.
Bring lots of money

36/26 MTB is available as a Shimano XTR.
What exactly is the issue- the inner ring contacts the frame?
Is shimming a Shimano CX50 crank not possible? They provide spacers to get the chainline and clearance to work. Just swap the 36t ring for a 34t ring. Its $12 or so from ebay.
Bonus is you get a 5 arm crank too instead of a fuggo 4 arm crank. the CX50 works perfectly as part of an 11sp system.

Cyclocross cranks are road based and have the ring size but not the Q factor
Mountain bike cranks have the Q factor but not the ring size
Its insane

nether have stud patterns that match - Im very seriously looking at taking my Campy CX's to the engineers and having the chainring bearing seat shifted inwards and chopping and adding a sleeve extension to the axle

Shims won't work on their own - i need to extend the Q Factor from 147mm+/- (approx) to 165mm and then I can align the chain-line with a shim

The plan is to run full Ultegra Di2 through out with hydralic disc, on paper everything aligns beautifully - have added stainless internal openings to the frame for the loom - just the crankset is the crybaby
