Anyone In The Christmas Spirit???
I ride now a 20 mile route at first light five days a week Monday thru Friday. Last night after a couple of 'libations' and being in this season's spirit I glam'ed up my bike with festive Christmas bows and some garland. I continued on to my helmet after a few more 'libations'. When finishing the decorations I thought to myself-- tomorrow morning I'm gonna go forth and spread "Joy & Goodwill to the World".
Morning came and I was feeling a little fuzzy while I climbed into my Florida six layers of cold ridding stuff (T-shirts & sweats), I forgot what had been done to my bike and helmet. Entering the site last night's work I was truly amazed at the skill and talent I put forth to enhance my ride. I was thrilled, but still a little fuzzy.....
I then shook off my 'fussiness' and departed...... To my surprise morning cars busily speeding to work tooted their horns and waived. I always thought that the drivers hated me and would be happier if I resembled a dead Opossum in the road. The children at their school bus stops jumped up and down giggling and yelling. Road crossing guards smiled and waived me to pass. The normal morning walkers shouted "Happy Holidays". Dogs didn't even bark at me. Gee, I thought I was dream'n.
Wow,,, being a little off center and goofy at times is good for a body and soul. Now I have to calm my dear wife down. She is adamant in my needing professional counseling. (She's just jealous that she doesn't ride.)
'Tis the Season, be silly and enjoy.....

If you were to look up in Webster's or Wiki Pedi the ideal cross country endure cyclist that is, sleek, shaved legs, bulging thighs, washboard abs, arms of cannons, and a trail of good looking girls chasing behind him it would be a photo of ME.
(At least in my mind and my dog thinks so.)

My wife is doing the finishing touches on a Santa hat that fits over my helmet as I type this.
I'm also thinking about wrapping some tinsel garland around the frame on the carbon fiber beastie.
The wife and daughter both think I've lost my mind.

My idea of a happy solstice involves few trimmings, but lots of family and food. :-) But at this season, it’s all about what makes you happy and ready to look forward to the restoration of Spring.

Interocitor Command
Never been a fan of this time of year. Seems like I have to double my meds just before Thanksgiving in order to survive until Spring.
Did you know that January was the number one month for divorce? January is also the peak month for depression.
Happy Krampus Day!

Let's do a casual ride through Highland Park to look at Christmas lights. Decorate your bike, wear a costume, or show your Christmas spirit in some other way ...

Love Thanksgiving. Love January. Could do without the month and festivities of December, and the pettyness and one upping and the notion that one shows love through gifts that comes with it.
Why can't it be like every other holiday, simple and over with after an informal family get-together with little expectations?
