First, it's Spain. That kind of stuff totally doesn't surprise me for Spain. Spain is the crap when it comes to getting stuff done right. 5 star hotel means the gap in the door frame going into your room is only 2-3" on one corner (and 0" on the other corner). Red light means the next 5 cars go. Etc.

Second, at least park a ****ing car in front of the barricades, have a moto stand in front with a flag/whistle/something. Riders will look for large immovable objects, not small immovable ones. Bouncing off a car or something would be better than hitting a pole.

The organizers should be crucified for having those poles bare and exposed like that.

It reminds me of when a cameraman, not familiar with pro racing, planted himself about 5 feet into the road on the outside of the final curve of a flatter/sprint stage. The guy that almost hits him does well to miss and then stops pedaling and looks back like "wtf are you doing in the road?!". Tour Du Pont. I think any collision would have been softer but still, it wasn't a good call on the cameraman's part.

that the cones stay in place tells you everything you need to know about how stiff those bollards are and what impacting one would be like.

Going to be a great weekend, with the best of the Spring Classics already underway. Of course I'm referring to the one and only, Redlands Classic. It will also be streamed this weekend, and outside a small race in France, its a slow week for cycling and you don't want to miss this storied race.

Gaimon won in Redlands today, Horner took 8th up Oak Glen. It will be interesting to see if their times were faster than mine. (Of course they were faster )

Sorry for the spoiler. Yeah it was a great finish. That's twice this year that I've watched UHC have the numbers and still get beat.

I finally watched paris roubaix. I'm so disconnected from pro cycling I had no idea who had won. Actually I didn't even know who had entered.

no need to apologize. The word "Spoilers" is in the title after all . Just regret missing seeing the finish of that race.

that's some weird pack dynamics though as they had fewer than 50 racers enter. it's almost as if 1/3 of the conti teams just aren't interested...

Spoilers, for those of you that haven't watched LBL yet. Highlight to see some thoughts.

Interesting finish to LBL, I initially thought it would be in Rodriguez's favor to carry his momentum right past Valverde and counter, but it looks like he hesitated because he (rightly, it seems) thought Valverde was not on the limit. I'm not sure what was the better move in this case because I'd think if he had gone past him at worst he would've gotten 2nd, but he still made the podium the way he played it.

/end spoilers
