As the sidecar pivots up does that mean you can lean the bike into corners like normal?

Gotta watch the video from the website. It looks as if it does just that: pivots so the bike can be ridden as normal, not rigid like a standard sidecar. I might look into getting one and narrowing it down a little to fit the sidewalks around here. There are a few places that I ride the 'walks to avoid heavy traffic.

Depends on how strong the hinge is.. I'd bet no. The hinge is llikely only for folding it out of the way.

I was just told about this thing tonight it's neat, I cound a neat idea too lol the attachment is quill stems and the other half can be a cut up kids trailer, i plan on making one. it dosn't look to hard to do, suprised no one has did that,

steering seems different on hacks.. bike mount leans away from the sidecar
to compensate for inertia of load.

I am probably posing the dumbest question of the year...
Is this compatable with my BD?
I would expect it to be. However, I would not want to pre-order and discover that there was something that made it incompatable. I'm seriously thinking of ordering one.

Sent them an email and asked if this would possibly fit my ride. Here's the response that I received......

""The SideCar isn't compatible with the Trek Transport. It works by inserting to the ports on either side of an Xtracycle or Xtracycle-compatible bike. Since the Transport doesn't have these ports, instead having a traditional frame, the SideCar won't work.

So it appears that, for now anyway, I won't be making a pre-order......

Looks like I'll start tinkering around and designing my own if I really want one that bad.

It's hard to tell again, but in this video, it doesn't look like the sidecar pivots to allow standard bike handling through leaning, so it'll take a little compensating to learn to turn at speed. Then again, I don't reckon xtracycle types are whipping around the place.

If you are running loaded heavily I wouldn't think that a pivot would be very practical. And, as you stated, folks on cargo bikes generally aren't whipping around to begin with.....

I'm not sure about that:

it seems that initially the rider leans the bike away from the sidecar, and it lifts off the ground. a few moments later, it seems that he puts his foot on the side car to hold it down, and tilts the bike again, away from the sidecar, and it pivots.

seems like the quill stems that go into the FreeRadical, utilize a bushing at the SideCar that allows the user to adjust clamping force.
