ID help - “Neuhaus” German bike

Has anyone ever heard of "Neuhaus" bikes? I got it for free off CL, the former owner said he bought it in Germany and toured all over Europe on it. It has the Mannesmann tube decal (I found lots of info on that), but the google machine came up empty on Neuhaus.
Seems like it might be a decent frame to my inexperienced eye, I’m wondering if it would be worth stripping, repainting and building back up. Total neophyte btw. Thanks!

The only 'Neuhaus' I'm aware of is Dieter Neuhaus (of Dortmund). He took over (or maybe bought out?) all the equipment from Hugo Rickert after he had a stroke and eventually retired from frame building.

This frame does have some rust issues that you'll have to inspect closely (and make sure the metal is not too compromised). It looks like a decent touring rig and, especially since it's free, it might be worth repainting/powdercoating.

Thanks Maurice! The rusting wasn't as bad as I feared after removing a good deal of it with naval jelly. Not so sure about the various blobs of paint though...
The "Neuhaus" emblem is indeed a post-manufacture sticker that's partly peeling off. But I really kind of like the 1970's belle epoque revivalist flair, think I'll try to preserve it while also touching up the paint as best I can.

Everything looks better with a cool leather saddle, no?

You didn't take a post pic of the worst part. The bracket housing. That looked bad.

I have seen some pretty nice jobs done on bikes like this. As I said on the last one I saw on here dump the decals. Strip it, and choose a nice color.

Man don't choose something hideous...

It would be nice if you could find this original color. I like the color myself.

Update: de-grimed and cleaned up the derailleur and chainwheel. Coming along...
I dunno, I'm still kinda partial to the decals.
