First off, it's difficult to even understand what you are trying to say, what with the complete disregard for even the slightest attempt at grammar and punctuation, or even a cursory glance back for typos.

But yeah, your amazingly deep question about Ultegra and how it relates to 105 and DA really went right over my head. It's, like, in the middle of the two, bro. Exactly what Fiets wrote in his first response...

I have Dura Ace on one bike and Ultegra on another. Both are really terrific. In performance, not much difference. The DA stuff is probably lighter by a bit and the finish is almost as good as it gets.

I'll probably go with Ultegra for future bike retrofits, unless the bike in question is worthy of DA.

Problem I see with the discussion is that over the decades various versions of each group shifted better or worse than another version of the same product tier. IE, 105 5800 shifted much better than 105 5700. Or at least that's what several articles I read reported back when 5800 and 6800 were introduced. Many considered it as or almost as good as Ultegra 6800 in shifting. Weight wise, Ultegra won hands down.

I'm sure some DuraAce users over the decades can point to some shifting better than other DuraAce groups. So if you are considering between DuraAce or Ultegra for a bike upgrade then you need to know the specific models of each that is being discussed.

True, and to boot shifting performance is highly dependant on cables, that are often not even Shimano, and cable routing that is often less than optimal. Not to mention ppl forget their crank is brand X, their chain is brand Y, etc...

I don't know what's going on with OP but I regret trying to post a helpful response early on.

I have a bike with 9 speed Dura ace and it works well. Rattles on certain roads and feels a little flimsy but honestly, 21 years on, it still works exactly as it did when it was new. With that said, the new Ultegra and 105 groupsets are fantastic. Honestly, I could not feel the difference between the those two groupsets. I rode the disc brake versions of both and they are solid pieces of kit that should be reliable and last for years. I have not ridden the new dura ace but there are lots of reviews saying that the difference between Ultegra and dura ace is minor. I think Shimano has gotten to a point were the only difference in the 105/Ultegra/dura ace is just weight. And I think the Ultegra is right in the middle between dura ace and 105.

So to answer your question, I would say that Ultegra is neither more dura ace or less 105. Nor is it more 105 and less dura ace.

Simple rule of thumb: Just buy the best groupset you can afford.

that said Ultegra is my favorite, has always worked great and is to me a noticeable step up from 105
i agree 105 is probably the sweetspot. It’s always worked fine for me. I had tiagra 4700?? on my road bike. It worked fine but I would say the shifting is crisper on the 105. I would have stayed with tiagra but I did not like the shifter cables coming out the side of the shifters. I knew new tiagra has fixed that
