BiKyle Experience - Beware!

I am not sure if this is appropriate in this forum but feel free to remove/relocate it.

I was looking for certain items online for my vintage Bianchi and this shop - BiKyle came up to my search. They have exactly what I was looking for and reasonable shipping cost so I placed my order with them. Later I received my order but couple items went missing from what I ordered originally. I sent them an email to see what went wrong but they never respond to me since then. They just disappeared.

Just a FYI for you all. Beware of this company, avoid it.

After the incident, I tried to look for review on this shop and surprisingly there are lotss of negative feedbacks online regarding this same shop. I should of done my homework before I placed the order with them!

I've had less than above board experience's with them on their vintage stuff. Used items sold as NOS, etc. I've ordered newer stuff as well, with no issues. I haven't used them in at least a year.

That's them. Let me know your name, what you're missing...etc. I'll give them a call and see if that resolves it. If not, I'll try and stop by some time (it might take a bit...getting married soon and time resources are limited).

I've only been there once and had a good experience...others I know have had problems.

Making progress. Seems to be a stock issue.

For what it's worth, I think they're a decent bunch of guys, they're just busy...maybe too busy for the volume. I also don't know them that well. It can probably be resolved.

good to know. I just drove past that shop today not knowing they existed. If we need to form a mob to go to the shop and bust some heads it seems like we have enough people

Aaron did 'negotiate' with them and seems like they are willing to resolve this. BiKyle claimed the problem was low stock level/miscommunication? Anyways I'll let you all know when there is an update.

Gotta give some props to our BForums guys/girls, especially Aaron. Cheers!

I really didn't do much...I name dropped to set credentials and just asked for help. It seemed like an honest mistake on their part and I'm still going with the "they were overwhelmed" hypothesis. No violent coercion needed

If there's one thing working in a corporate legal department teaches you, it's how to speak softly and not even need a big stick.

Re: BiKyle Experience - Beware!Reply to Thread

In the nearly ten years since this thread started, nothing has changed about this shop.

I ordered a bike (custom Peg) through this shop. The process should have been special, but instead it was anything but. This shop is deceptive, disingenuous and disinterested in providing anything in the way of customer service that runs counter to its established business practices (the final price was 9% over because of an undocumented fee the shop slipped in; an offer to split the difference of the disputed amount was rejected out of hand by Kyle Schmeer, the shop owner). An awful shop in every way. Shop here at peril to your sensibilities and savings. If decide to buy a bike from this shop after reading this, just make sure you get *everything* in writing. You might get the bike you want, but the process will rob you of the joy.

@mudboy nailed it in his earlier post.

If you'd like more info, you're welcome to PM me.

Did you give them a deposit or pay the full fee up front? If paid by credit card I would look into the buyer protection, especially if he gave you a quote in writing and the fee was omitted.

@maldav, I read your email but was unable to reply offline. It looks like you tried everything I would have done, and took the 9% hit. At least you ended up with a great bike.

I am in the area and have never been to their shop but based on the way you were treated I consider myself lucky.
